While we embark on large scale environment and community relations, we have not forgotten that small things do really add up. So, employees are told to practice what we preach and we have a robust office recycling program that recovers, recycles and reuses waste generated within the office environment.
Social Integrity
At F&N, we believe that the practice of social integrity has many different facets. We uphold brand responsibility, at all times heeding the feedbacks of our stakeholders and demonstrating a commitment to diversity and inclusion across the company.
Employee Programmes
The company has set up a RM1.2 million fund to promote educational excellence and to recognise high-achievers among children of the F&N Group’s employees. This fund is called the Chairman's Award. Recently, the award which is into its seventh year, received an injection of RM1.25 million in conjunction with F&N's 125th anniversary celebrations. These are cash awards given out annually to children of employees who have excelled in public examinations. Since its inception in 2003, a total sum of RM1.34 million has been disbursed to 1,077 children of employees.
Safety
With the top priority it accords to workplace security, F&N’s glass division continued its annual safety awareness program to raise awareness and educate employees on safety practices. This included engaging safety consultants from the Industrial Safety Management Service (ISMS) to conduct the annual audiometric test on staff to identify and diagnose hearing competence. The safety manual guideline on safety requirements such as PPE, safety handling, etc was also implemented.
FNDT achieved a safety record of zero accident (no loss time accident) accumulated from February 1, 2007 to September 21, 2009 with a total 962 days or 2.3 million working hours. In terms of its environmental compliance incident, FNDT achieved ‘zero environmental compliance’ status.
