Fraser & Neave Holdings Bhd Sustainability Report 2019

OUR APPROACH Malaysia’s government has targeted a 45% reduction in GHG intensity by 2030 from a 2005 baseline, and Thailand has a reduction target of 30% by 2036 from a 2010 baseline. F&NHB has an initial target: between 2017 and 2020, we aim to reduce intensity by 5%. As with the other eco-efficiency topics, the framework for our approach is our Energy Management Policy. We regularly review the policy to ensure that it is valid and up-to-date. Various actions during manufacturing, storage and transportation require energy. We have applied a range of initiatives, based on circular economy principles, to improve our energy performance. Our energy and climate change related activities are broken down into five priority areas. The first four relate to minimising our own direct and indirect impacts, and the final one relates to how we are adapting to climate change risks: Our Energy Management Policy All our operations in Malaysia and Thailand are guided by the following principles: Energy e f f iciency in our operat ions Renewable energy sour cing and generat ion Reducing carbon in our value chain Route planning Operat ions ’ exposur e to climate change r isks Fulfil and enhance the energy management system as energy conservation is one important part of our operations 01 Well manage and utilise energy conservation technology and best practices as part of our continuous improvement 02 Implement and improve energy management system to comply with relevant laws and regulations 03 Conduct energy improvement programme to optimise business operations 04 Promote, support and manage energy conservation efficiently 05 WWW .
