F&N Fulfills Wishlists of over 170 Children this Christmas
In central KL, F&NHB brought children from Sunbeams Home to SuperPark at Avenue K on 13 December for a day of fun and activities. In addition to enjoying a day of play and games, the children were treated to a complimentary Christmas lunch, before receiving their Christmas gifts and goodie bags from F&N employees, including two dressed as Santa Claus and an Elf.
At Jireh Home, F&NHB’s volunteers sang Christmas carols with the children to bring them good cheer. On top of that, the Group extended its support to the home by donating F&N products and essential daily necessities. At Kota Samarahan, Kuching, 62 children ages five to 19 from The Salvation Army Home had their wishlists fulfilled by F&N employees. F&N also supported a Christmas Charity Dinner organised by The Salvation Army Home.
“Our commitment to making a meaningful impact extends beyond our business objectives, in line with our brand promise of delivering ‘Pure Enjoyment, Pure Goodness’. As we bring 2023 to a close and ready ourselves for the new year, our dedication to the well-being of our community remains a priority. By fulfilling their wishlists, we want to instill hope in the children and spread warmth and joy. We feel that this act of generosity represents the true essence of the holiday and also reflects our Group’s sincerity in brightening the lives of others,” said Karen Tan, Director of Communications, Corporate Affairs & Sustainability at F&NHB.
Tan added that as an organisation that has played an integral role in the community life of Malaysians for the past 140 years, F&NHB highly values the relationship between different cultures and sees the festive celebrations as a way for all Malaysians to come together harmoniously.
“F&N has grown with generations of Malaysians, who hold the F&N brand near and dear to their hearts. We are honoured to be able to maintain the trust of our consumers by using social initiatives as a way to bring our multicultural nation together. Our duty is not only to bring joy to the communities around us but also to work with them to uplift them for a better Malaysia.”
In addition to festive outreach programmes throughout the year, F&NHB also conducts community empowerment programmes that promote a more equal society through diversity, equal opportunities and social inclusion. Earlier this year during Deepavali, F&NHB continued its support for the MySkills Foundation through the donation of baking equipment for the Foundation’s culinary school. The Group also engaged celebrity chef Kamaruddin Adnin to perform a cooking demonstration for the students of the Foundation, teaching them his unique approach to making iconic Malaysian dishes.
“It is our privilege and responsibility to be able to contribute towards a better society. We will continue to focus our festive efforts to support the welfare of less fortunate children while also maintaining our commitment to community development and inclusive growth through our other outreach initiatives,” concluded Tan.
