F&N Spreads Message of Recycling to Schools in Petaling Jaya
Held in collaboration with the Petaling District Education Office and Tetra Pak (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd., the campaign aims to instil good recycling habits in children from kindergartens as well as primary and secondary schools in Petaling Jaya.
Promoting the 5R philosophy of Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Rethink and Reinvent, the campaign targets the participation of 100 kindergartens and 86 primary and secondary schools in Petaling Jaya beginning 10th July until 30th September 2018.
Kindergartens and schools that accumulate the highest number of recyclable materials will win cash prizes according to different categories.
The kindergarten with the highest collection or recyclables will win RM800, followed by RM500 for the first runner-up and RM200 for the second runner-up. Meanwhile, the kindergarten with the highest number of aluminium and Tetra Pak cartons collected will win RM300 each.
Both primary and secondary schools that win first place will each receive RM1,000 while primary and secondary schools that come second will each win RM900. Third and fourth places in the primary and secondary school categories will receive RM800 and RM700 respectively. Primary and secondary schools in the fifth spot will bring home RM600. A consolation prize of RM300 will be given to each primary and secondary schools from sixth to 10th positions. Meanwhile, primary and secondary schools that achieve the highest collection of aluminium and plastic materials will each get RM500.
During the campaign, F&N will visit participating kindergartens and schools, and brief the principals and teachers on the importance of encouraging the students to conserve the environment. F&N will also educate the principals and teachers on the proper way of disposing waste through the 5R concept to reduce the amount of rubbish that ends up in landfills.
