F&NHB Honours Academic Excellence with the F&NHB Chairman’s Award 2023
The F&N Chairman’s Award, established in 2003, continues to be a testament to F&NHB’s unwavering commitment to nurturing talent, fostering academic excellence and supporting the holistic development of the nation’s youth. The 2023 edition reaffirms the company’s dedication to recognising the outstanding accomplishments of students who excel not only academically but also in their extra-curricular pursuits.

Tengku Syed Badarudin Jamalullail, Chairman of F&NHB.

The F&N Chairman’s Award is a reflection of our holistic commitment to sustainability, encouraging not only academic excellence but also instilling values that will contribute to a better society and planet,” said Mr. Lim Yew Hoe, Chief Executive Officer of F&NHB.
He added, “I would like to congratulate all the students here today for their outstanding performance and perseverance. We at F&N place great emphasis on the education of our employees’ children because we believe that education is crucial towards building a successful future for any individual. In fact, some of our past recipients of the F&N Chairman’s Award has become successful employees of the organisation today. I want to thank and express my admiration for their parents who have also worked hard to ensure that their children receive a quality education.”
Among the recipients of the 2023 F&N Chairman’s Award is special award winner Chan Ken Wei for winning the Diamond Award (Young Innovator) in International Invention, Innovation and Design Competition 2023. He said: “It’s a fantastic feeling to see something I’ve done being recognised with an award. I never expected awards; I just did what I loved, and the award feels like a great bonus.” His proud father, Chan Chee Seng said: “We, as parents, understand that we may not always know our children’s interests, so we focus on giving them exposure to various things. I am grateful for this award, which clearly shows that the company I work for, cares for its employees – definitely a positive initiative.”
Bryan Ong See Hang is the proud father of Hilda Ong Kai En who achieved an impressive 10As in her SPM results, receiving a total of RM1,000 as a reward.
Expressing his gratitude, Bryan Ong said: “As a parent, I am happy for my daughter; witnessing her efforts being rewarded brings immense joy. Throughout her studies, my main role is to provide constant encouragement. This award is a testament to the value F&N places on recognising the excellence of its employees’ children. With 14 years at F&N, I feel a deep sense of gratitude for being associated with a company that plays such a significant role in the community.”
Echoing her father, Hilda Ong said: “I feel fascinated because F&N is a well-known brand. It’s a very big company. When my dad first told me that he’s working for F&N, I was proud of his career.”
Irfan Bin Devano who successfully got accepted into Universiti Malaysia Kelantan’s Doctor Of Veterinary Medicine programme said: “I am thrilled to be accepted at one of Malaysia’s two universities offering this programme. My motivation stems from a deep love for animals and the desire to make a positive impact on their lives. Witnessing my mom’s dedication at F&N inspires me in my pursuits, and while my immediate goal is clinical practice post-graduation, I can envision a future where I contribute to F&N’s objectives.”
His mom, Kartini Binti Abdul Rahim added: “I am incredibly proud of my son. The F&N Chairman’s Award, with its focus on supporting children’s education, has positively impacted our family. F&N stands out as a company that truly cares for its staff, and this award motivates our children to excel in higher education.”
To date, F&NHB has disbursed cash rewards amounting to RM4.5 million to 2,700 children throughout the country and is looking forward to continue recognising more deserving students in the future.
