F&NHB Honours Student Excellence at the F&N Chairman’s Award 2025
Since its inception in 2003, the F&N Chairman’s Award has been a cornerstone of F&NHB’s efforts to give back to the community, reinforcing the company’s belief in creating opportunities for the next generation. Secondary students with top scores in national or international examinations are rewarded based on the number of high grades achieved , while tertiary students accepted into local or overseas undergraduate programmes receive a significant cash award. Special awards are also granted to students who excel in sports or co-curricular competitions at the state, national or international level. All recipients receive a Certificate of Recognition in addition to cash prizes.
“At F&NHB, we take pride in seeing young talent flourish into capable future leaders. This award is our way of recognising their dedication, hard work and also the support and guidance of their families who nurture and inspire them every step of the way. By celebrating their achievements, we hope to motivate them to dream bigger, pursue their passions and embrace the opportunities that lie ahead,” said YAM Tengku Syed Badarudin Jamalullail, Chairman of F&NHB.
Mr Lim Yew Hoe, Chief Executive Officer of F&NHB: “Across our 140-year journey in Malaysia, F&N has consistently invested in developing future generations. Through initiatives like the Chairman’s Award, we encourage youth to excel, build capability and explore pathways that may include the opportunity to one day become a part of F&N AgriValley’s future talent pipeline.”
Muhammad Fauzi bin Ahmad, father of Muhammad Fahim Zharfan, who has been accepted into the Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical Engineering) programme at Hochschule Kaiserslautern, expressed his pride. “I am very proud of Fahim for achieving his dream of studying engineering in Germany, a leader in automotive innovation. Supporting my children through their studies has always been important, and I hope his success will inspire his younger siblings to aim high,” he said.
His son, Muhammad Fahim Zharfan, added: “Applying to Hochschule Kaiserslautern was made easier with guidance and research, and I felt excited and relieved when accepted. I have been learning German for the past two years to prepare for this new environment. I have always been fascinated by how the world works, and this programme will allow me to explore that curiosity. I am grateful to my father for his support and to F&N for providing a strong foundation. I would love to work at F&N one day and hope to make a positive impact through my skills.”
Nagarajan A/L Muthusamy, father of recipient Dhanika A/P Nagarajan, expressed his pride in his daughter’s achievement and shared words of encouragement for other parents supporting their children’s education. He said, “My advice to parents is to stay supportive and patient throughout their child’s academic journey. Encouragement and belief in your child can make a big difference as they work towards their goals.”

Dhanika added: “Applying to Tunku Abdul Rahman University was exciting and challenging, but being accepted motivates me to work even harder. I chose to study English because I am passionate about language and communication, and I hope to use these skills to inspire and empower others. I am also proud of my dad’s dedication at F&N, and given the opportunity, I would love to work there in the future.”
Siti Nursuhaila binti Junaidi, who was accepted into the Sarjana Muda Sains Sosial (Hubungan Antarabangsa) programme at UNIMAS, shared that the opportunity strengthens her motivation to build a meaningful future in her field. She said, “I’m grateful to be accepted into UNIMAS, and it inspires me to work towards a future where I can contribute positively through International Relations. I’m also proud of my mother’s dedication at F&N, and seeing her commitment motivates me to pursue my goals with the same determination.”
Her mother, Masayu binti Busrah, expressed her pride in her daughter’s achievement and reflected on how it connects to her own experiences at F&N. She said, “I am so proud of my daughter’s success. Moments like these remind me of my own journey at F&N, working with supportive colleagues and seeing initiatives like the Chairman’s Award, which truly show the company’s care for employees and their families.”
Lau Cheng Wei, who is pursuing a Bachelor of Agricultural Science (Plantation Management) at Kuala Lumpur University of Science and Technology (KLUST), shared that the opportunity strengthens his passion for contributing to the agriculture sector. He said, “I’m grateful to be accepted into KLUST, and it motivates me to build a meaningful future in agricultural science where I can contribute positively to society. I’m also proud of my father’s dedication at F&N, and seeing his commitment has inspired me to work hard and stay focused on my goals.”
His father, Lau Lay Cher, who has served with F&N for over 15 years, expressed pride in his son’s achievement while reflecting on his own journey with the company. He said, “I am truly proud of my son’s success. Moments like this remind me of my time at F&N, working alongside supportive colleagues and seeing the company’s commitment to sustainability. His degree in Agricultural Science (Plantation Management) is closely aligned with F&N AgriValley, and I believe it will allow him to contribute meaningfully to sustainable plantation practices and the future of our agri-operations.”
